Pigneto began as a working-class district between Via Prenestina and Via Casilina. Pasolini chose it as the set for Accattone, and its murals and old bars still tell that story. Today it is Rome's creative quarter, loved by artists, students and anyone looking for an authentic atmosphere.
Via del Pigneto and street art
The pedestrian stretch of Via del Pigneto is the heart of the area: by day it hosts the local market, in the evening it fills with tables, wine bars and cocktail bars. The side streets are full of murals by Italian and international artists: it is worth wandering without a plan.

Getting around
The Pigneto Metro C stop is three minutes from Salotto 34 and reaches the Colosseum in a few minutes. Termini is about ten minutes by public transport, and trams along Via Prenestina quickly connect Porta Maggiore and San Lorenzo.
